As soon as I started this book I wanted to be in the woods, or somewhere in nature, even though I was on my back in bed at 11pm. Marna's love of nature spills from the page and her poignant interactions with people on the trail reveal her eye for detail in humans as well as flora. I was nearly in tears towards the end of the book as Marna realizes her days on the trail are numbered. Especially touching since she forced her unwilling body to go just a little further for that soul satisfying interaction with the world around her (she is now 92). I was well pumped today to go out on a hike with my wife, and I was well rewarded, as always, for the effort. This may be the most important message of the book for me.Product details
